windshield-wipering our feet
slowly, surely, so we go
smoothing out the crunchy snow

which will not be fit to meet
all the reindeers' dancing feet
til every crystal's in its place
for the merrython midnight race.

Twice it is we're undertaking
our painstaking runway making
First, to launch the team just right
glide and slide into the night.

Next, the team to welcome back
cold and longing for a snack
Then the Christmas feast begins
for Santa and his working friends.

For everyone, a Christmas wish
and, of course, their favorite dish
Our is candy cane relish
plopped atop some frozen fish.
